Le Lilas Blanc is a stylish, imposing country house, set in almost three acres of beautiful gardens, surrounded by rolling picturesque countryside with forests interspersed by Lakes and sun-drenched vineyards which grow the famous Cognac grapes. You can visit the most beautiful beaches in Europe, or swim in the nearby lake which also has angling, water-sports, a sandy beach, a nearby nine hole golf course and miles of forest walks.
As well as the Gites' own pool, there are three further public swimming pools within ten minutes drive. There are historic towns with ancient buildings and churches to visit such as Bordeaux, Cognac and St Emilion.
The house is on the edge of a small village called Merignac. The suffix "ac"
on many names of towns and villages in this area, originates from Roman times,
meaning the town or village is near water.
There are shops, supermarkets, bars, some excellent restaurants, a bank, and
a Post office just ten minutes drive away !
Although it is totally peaceful here, ten minutes drive will get you onto the
main road to England or Spain. (Being either the RN10 to the East or the A10
to the West)
